Lerew's Wild Eye Photography

"Just keeping a Wild Eye on you"

Welcome...

Lerew’s Wild Eye Photography is a nature lover’s view of the Quehanna Wild Area, the PA Wilds, Clearfield County and surrounding areas.  On this site, you will find photos, our own blog, sights to see, and links to other informative, pictorial, and environmental sites that are relevant to us all.

Express yourself and inspire others by sending content for our blog or contribute to our bi-monthly journal by emailing naturelvr@peoplepc.com.  There are 48,000 acres to photograph, hike, fish, hunt, and explore; some of which you can bicycle, snowmobile, 4-wheel, or horseback ride.  And all of Quehanna has an endless variety of plants, trees, flowers, snakes, birds, wildlife, fungus and insects.  Fish in our native trout streams and canoe or kayak the scenic rivers, lakes and ponds that are located throughout the area.

The remote, quiet trails are a testing ground for the adventurous and experienced hiker, although there are also numerous treks for the less traveled rambler.  Please reference our links for more information on trails, where to hike and how to assist in maintaining for continued hiking pleasure.

Then, of course, there are the elk.  The only thing that is better than watching these magnificent creatures (from a distance) is to listen to them bugling on a foggy autumn evening.  It’s a sound you will want to experience and that you’ll never forget.  There are elk all over the Quehanna Wilds, but you may want to travel to Benezette to see them; viewing areas are located at Winslow Hill, Hicks Run and Dents Run.  Other great stops to view elk and additional wildlife are Sinnemahoning State Park, Beaver Run Dam and along the Quehanna Highway.   I have spent thousands of hours photographing, watching, and listening to the Waipiti.
